Meet Erick Wade — a dedicated community advocate whose passion for keeping Huntsville clean has earned him national and state recognition, including three consecutive President’s Volunteer Service Awards—most recently at the Gold level—and a commendation from Alabama Governor Kay Ivey.

Since 2015, Wade has gone above and beyond as part of the Green Team’s Adopt-A-Spot program, cleaning Meridian Street weekly and dedicating his efforts “for those who can’t.”

To inspire others, he created Fight for the City, his first Huntsville Hero Comic Book, which combines local landmarks with an action-packed story to rally the fight against litter. Through his comics, school outreach with the Green Ambassador program, and creative community engagement, Wade leads by example, turning his personal mission into a citywide movement.
