Aims & Scope
JCEC is committed to publishing high quality research and experience-based work. JCEC’s focus is on the power of collaboration for understanding and achieving equitable change.
As a space for eliciting dialogue and prompting action, JCEC supports equity-focused growth and change at all levels: individual, group, organizational, institutional, and societal.
We welcome scholarly manuscripts, creative works, policy and critique briefs, stories, and more – any work that encourages connection and collaboration and offers strategies for collective approaches to justice and social change.
All submissions remain the intellectual property of the author(s)/submitter(s).
How to Submit
JCEC has a rolling submission process. You know best when it is time to submit your work, and we want to be ready for it. The following policies are intended to ensure submissions reflect a diversity of experiences and come from a wide variety of contributors.

All Interviews must include transcripts (please review for accuracy before submitting).
The Peer Review Process
JCEC has a four-step Peer Review Process:
1) Executive or Managing Editors make an initial review to determine whether the submission fits JCEC’s aims and scope. If it does…
2) …an Associate Editor sends the work to at least two reviewers who have been selected based on their submission-relevant expertise.
3) Once reviewed, a manuscript may be accepted with no revisions, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejected. There are some instances when additional reviews are sought.
4) When submissions are accepted for publication, authors are asked to work with the JCEC on issues such as intellectual property, citations, grammar, formatting, copyediting, etc.
— Contributing ideas should be acknowledged or cited, as appropriate. Use of ChatGPT or any other AI prose or image generator must also be clearly acknowledged.
— Print and video interviews are welcomed. Interviews should be submitted in a Q & A format that showcases the voices of the interviewer and interviewee. Transcripts are needed for interviews and should be reviewed for accuracy before submitting.
