Visual & Performance Art
Visual and Performance art can be a powerful and effective agent of change. We look forward to the creative representation of collaboration and change to promote equity. This section contains images and videos of how artists represent their thoughts and ideas of collaboration, equity, and change.
When I heard “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants” as a child, I pictured a huge male giant, like the one in the Jack and the Beanstalk story, bending down, picking people up, and putting them on his shoulders.
I wondered why anybody would want to stand on the shoulders of a giant — felt a bit worried … it seemed unsafe.
Older now, I am grateful for the many giants who support and connect us as we meet every day; largely clueless without their clues.
Ancestors, colleagues, family, enemies, small children, animals, wind, and the trees.
These are the giants on whose shoulders we stand.
